David Anthony Durand Jr., Esq. is a licensed attorney in the state of Louisiana, consultant, and an experienced K-12 charter school educator. David has served as founding board member of Educators for Quality Alternatives (EQA) - the first alternative education charter school in Louisiana; General Counsel & Director of Community Outreach of FirstLine Schools - the first charter management organization in Louisiana; and, Co-Director of NOLA Tech (New Orleans Career and Technical Academy) - the first career and technical education (CTE) charter school approved to operate in Orleans Parish post-Katrina.While at Howard, David joined Phi Sigma Pi Honors Fraternity; pledged Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Beta Chapter; and, lettered for three years on the Howard University Baseball Team. He prided himself on supporting other young scholars moving through these different processes, having served as the Initiate Advisor for both Phi Sigma Pi and Alpha Phi Alpha, and as the Co-Captain on the the Baseball Team. David is also proud of having his two younger brothers and two younger cousins graduating from Howard Univ., as well (School of B; School of C.; Pharmacy; and Engineering.)David earned his Accounting and Master’s of Business of Administration degrees from the Howard University School of School of Business and his law degree from Tulane University. He was admitted to the LA State Bar in 2010, and he has served as a K-12 school administrator since 2011.
